The Black Turtle by G.Nathan

Feng Shui has many different schools of thought, both in its application and science. The form school theories that form the crux of any Feng Shui, is what we will delve further into today. We will explore how your landscape and environment can influence your success.

Our first part in the four part series analyses the black turtle. How it affects your home, office and living space, as well as how to improve your Feng Shui using the concepts of the Black Turtle.

The Black Turtle originally represented the back of your home or for those more technically astute, the sitting of your house. In our present lifestyles, they can be applied equally well to anything within our environment, the bedroom, the office etc.

Symbolizing protection, support and stability, the Turtle is placed in the North and represented by the image of a Black Turtle. The Chinese name for the Black Turtle is Yuen Mo. This has both a mystical and Feng Shui aspect to it but we will be concentrating on the latter.

When choosing a house choose one that has elevated ground behind it. The elevated ground would be similar to having the black turtle supporting you.

Avoid those that sit on the edge of a cliff. In lieu of elevated ground, tall trees and bigger buildings behind your home will also contribute to ensuring the support of the Black Turtle.

The occupants of a home will enjoy a steady and stable quality of life when their Black Turtle is well placed. If your house does not have the benefit of the Black TurtleÕs behind try these simple remedies. Where possible elevate the land behind your home, plant tall trees or an even better option would be to place figurines of the Black Tortoise behind your home.

Applying the concept of the Black Turtle to your bedroom is a short step from what we did with the surroundings of your home.

We spend one third of our lives sleeping and to ignore this aspect of our environment would be careless.

Ensure that your bed is placed against a solid wall. The wall represents the Black Turtle, ensuring support even when you sleep. Also when picking out a bed, pick one that has a solid headboard that supports your head.

The most common effects of sleeping without the Black Turtle guarding your back would be insomnia, a disturbed sleep and even nightmares. If you are constantly troubled by ghostly dreams, check to see if your bed is placed in the center of the room.

When it is unavoidable that your bed cannot be in such a position as to benefit from the Black Turtle, it is easily remedied with a few small changes. For beginners, place a figurine or sculpture of a tortoise directly behind your bed.

This symbolically takes the place of your Black Turtle. Similarly pictures of turtles will do just as well.

Your office in a similar vein can also be optimized to ensure that you gain the best advantage from your working environment. Are you sitting with a window being the only thing backing you? Well this could be why you feel your colleagues are unsupportive towards you.

Ensure that a wall behind you solidly backs your sitting position in the office. Windows are not at all conducive and neither is locating your sitting position in the middle of a large room. Also where possible try to use chair with a high back and cover up any windows behind you.

Since your sitting in the office can be difficult to change, you can always compensate for it by hanging up pictures of the Black Turtle or using figurines of the Black Tortoise. These small remedies will ensure that you maximize the potential benefit that a strong Black Turtle brings you.

Implementing these small changes in your living environment might not make you wealthy overnight but the small changes that you see, will convince you that the Black Turtle is definitely behind you in all your endeavors.

Good Luck
