Emperor
Qian Long

The
fourth emperor during the reign of the Qing Dynasty, Qian Long
(born Hong Li) was always credited as being one of the most noble
and virtuous king. Under his rule, the wealth of the empire swelled
and technological advancement reached heights previously unheard
of.
Having
ascended the throne at the tender age of 24, his people referred
to him as Emperor Qian Long in accordance with the period in which
he ruled. Hongli had great regard for his grandfather Kang Xi
and made no attempt to hide the respect he held for his ancestor.
Many regard both him and his grand father to have been the two
most influential and powerful emperors of all times.
During
the rule of Emperor Qian Long, his achievements in both the political
and social arena brought him much fame. He maintained a humble
control over his people while tightening control over corruption
and abuse of power by those officials in the royal service. All
this only helped to spread his fame, bringing about what could
only be described as probably the greatest hundred years of the
Qing dynasty.
The
most complete works of Chinese literature ever compiled were due
to the efforts of Emperor Qian Long. In a time when scholars were
hard to find and manuscripts even rarer, Qian long organised a
detailed writing of chinese literature. Hundreds of scholars were
summoned and worked over a decade on what has now come to be known
as The Complete Library in The Four Branches of Literature. This
further encouraged the technological revolution of that period
with knowledge being more readily available.
The Qian Long Emperor coins are the most prized coins of any of
the ruling Dynasties. They are symbolic of the prosperous reign
that Qian Long was famous for. Qian Long Emperor coins, inscribed
with his name are said to bring about glory and fortune, infusing
the user with the same energies that made Qian Long so powerful
.
