Bathrooms are Qi suppressants. This means that its very nature of Yin energy makes the bathroom a less than desirable area for good energy movement. Therefore, to limit the negative vibes keep your bathroom clean, well-ventilated and fresh-smelling for the best Qi movement. You may also want to install bright, cheerful lighting in your bathroom to further dispel negative Qi. If you have bathroom windows, keep them open daily and allow in as much sunlight as possible.
The whole purpose is to create a cheerful, bright haven in your bathroom as opposed to it being dank, dark and murky – all hallmarks of a Yin energy area.

Plants are auspicious additions to your bathroom as well. Some greens can slow down energy movement to minimize the effects of bad Qi, plus your plants will love the humidity of this area! Remember to just keep your plants close to the window to expose it to some sunshine.

Refrain from putting framed family pictures in the bathroom. If you wish to decorate the bathroom walls with some framed art, you may choose nature scenes.

Here’s an oldie but a definite goodie – always keep your bathroom and toilet doors closed. Try to avoid leaving these doors ajar since the objective is to keep the Qi within these areas contained. Also, the lid of the toilet should be shut down at all times.

To expand the space of your bathroom, how about using some illusion magic? Mirrors are wonderful for this purpose, and contrary to popular belief they will not cause any bad Feng Shui for you. Plus, mirrors can speed up a lagging flow of good Qi in the bathroom. To decorate, you may be as creative as you wish and hang or apply as many as you want in the bathroom. A word of caution, though - do not place mirrors where they reflect each other. This connotes to good Qi being 'trapped' in between.
If your bathroom is location in the Southeast or East, hang a mirror outside of the bathroom door. For this year, 2008, these locations are the best Wealth sectors of the year. A mirror will lessen the 'draining' effects of the bathroom may wreak on your Wealth potential.
