Master
Joseph Yu started the day with his talk on 'Feng Shui - The Study of Time
and Space'. His 3-hour talk takes the audience on a time ship back to the days
of Pangu, Fuxi, Huang Shi Gong, Yang Yun Song - the grandfathers of Kan Yu (an
ancient term for Feng Shui). Master Yu gave a very systematic introduction to
the history and founding principles of Classical Feng Shui.
After lunch, Cate
Bramble delivered a talk on 'New Age Feng Shui'. Being an outspoken figure
on this issue, she distinguished between New Age and Classical Feng Shui, going
back to history where and why New Age started and the flourishing business of
this subject. She also advised the audience to be aware of what is real, authentic
Feng Shui, and what is the new-age replica of Feng Shui.
At
3.30 p.m., Joey Yap presented his speech on the 'Xuan Kong Lineage'.
Many members of the audience were surprised to find out that there were
6 major schools of classical Xuan Kong Feng Shui. Yap explained the importance
of lineages and described each school in detail and their specialties. It
was an interesting Feng Shui history lesson as Yap explained the chronicles
of ancient masters such as Jiang Da Hong, Zhang Zhung Shan, Shen Ju Reng,
Tan Yang Wu, You Shi Yin, Rong Ba Yun and Hung Chuan. Yap also gave examples
of several techniques of Xuan Kong Feng Shui, where the applications differ
in each lineage. Joey Yap proved to be a most engaging speaker. It could
be seen clearly from the audience who demanded much more, but due to time
constraint, was sorely disappointed. |

Lorraine
Wilcox delivered the last speech of the day, an interesting topic on 'Fate
and Luck'. A soft and gentle personality, members of the audience were delighted
with her warm and friendly tone as she explained how the Chinese cosmology of
life works. Ms. Wilcox also gave an enlightening explanation as to why certain
people are luckier than the others, and how much a person can or cannot do to
change his or her life.
At
8 p.m., everyone proceeded to the Gala Dinner. It was a full house! It was interesting
to note the number of Western friends who turned out in lovely 'cheongsams',
a traditional Chinese female dress. A special highlight of the evening was that
everyone from the organizing team from the Yap Cheng Hai Feng Shui Center of
Excellence were dressed in full traditional Chinese outfits. All the Masters
were seated at one table, and they had a merry time discussing the treasured
moments and events of the past 2 days. The conversation then again switched
to classical Feng Shui as everyone enjoyed the Chinese banquet. The banquet
itself was magnificent - the Conference organizers somehow managed to get a
Chinese restaurant's cooks to the Maritim Hotel to produce a full Chinese banquet
for all the people at the Conference! Our correspondence attending the Conference
reported that everyone loved the dinner served, and for some participants, it
was the first time they were eating a full Chinese meal!

Participants
of the Conference were captivated by the performance of Larry Lee, an
all round entertainer engaged by the organizers to bring in some fun and grooving.
True enough, Lee proved quite the entertainer when he got most of the participants
singing and dancing away to his music.
The second day
ended with a blast and as the music dimmed, it was a wrap up of another successful
day of the Conference.
