Xuan Kong Feng Shui : The element of time

In Feng Shui we utilize the Chinese Calendar to determine the cycles of time and its influence on homes and the work environment. It is important to clarify that we are talking about the Chinese Solar calendar and not the Lunar. There is an enourmous different in the way each interpret the beginning of the each year and consequently the division of time, where accordingly to the Chinese solar calendar is the following:

1 period = 20 years
1 cycle = 3 periods = 60 years
1 era = 3 cycles = 9 periods = 180 years
1 age = 20 eras = 60 cycles = 180 periods = 3600 years

For the purposes of Feng Shui we consider one period (20 years), as the most important element in the energetic distribution of a place. How does this influence people?

Feng Shui does not effect people directly, it is a science for spaces, the building itself, be that a house or office space. As we are talking about places where people are living and working, it is obvious that it will indirectly affects the people as well. Hence, the reason we need Feng Shui.

The cycles are divided in 3 periods of 20 years each, consequently 60 years total, are the most important division of time technique to apply Xuan Kong Fei Xing. By knowing how the cycles work, we can determine the quality and type of energy that will influence the property. Through the direction in relation to the magnetic north and the date of construction - vital data for the use of the technique - we can determine the types of energy of each premises and how they influence the occupants. This is very similar to the concept of Einstein's Space Time, result of the Theory of Relativity that says space and the time are connected.
