Here is another book by Sarah Shurety designed to teach you about the ancient Chinese art of Feng Shui. Feng Shui enthusiasts will recognize her from the boom in UK's Feng Shui tomatoes. (Ms. Shurety advised UK farmers the ways of bringing energy to their greenhouse, thus assisting the growth of their tomatoes. Tomato productivity rose and consumers took a special interest in their tomatoes, hence fighting off competition from Spain and Italy.)
As mentioned earlier, this book is divided into 2 parts - Feng Shui basics and creative solutions. In Feng Shui basics, there are brief but comprehensive explanations of the ba gua and the 5 elements. They are accompanied by illustrations. There is also a Kua number chart for those who do not know their Kua numbers. A short history of Feng Shui is also included
The author used several examples to prove her points, for instance New York and Amsterdam. There is also related information such as Chinese customs for Chinese New Year and funerals. Readers will appreciate the fact that Shurety took the trouble to explain her points in a way that clears all doubts.
The second part of the book is dedicated to giving readers an idea of how to use lucky symbols to fix Feng Shui related problems for better health, wealth and romance life. Clear and glossy photographs and graphics accompany the texts and there are also info-packed sidebars.
After learning the basic concepts, the reader will find creative solutions to developing a career (an aquarium with goldfish in a home office encourages financial success), improving relationships (crystal mobiles can bring more sparkle and passion); and strengthening family ties (positioning your bed in the right way encourages fidelity). Lucky symbols are recommended as potent Feng Shui cures.

Ms. Shurety subscribes to the Feng Shui school of thought on using mirrors to cure Feng Shui related problems. Like many Feng Shui practitioners, Ms. Shurety also believes that too much clutter in one's house is a bad thing. To those interested in clearing clutter, Ms. Shurety dedicated 2 pages in her book with excellent tips and guidelines on how to de-clutter and organize your homes.
Conclusion : The explanations and instructions are clear enough to make this book a good start for novices. However some concepts deviate from what many traditionalists are familiar with.
