New Family
Bob and Lois live in a beautiful Spanish style house in Santa Monica. They are planning to remodel the house in preparation for a baby girl they are soon adopting. Because they work out of the home and will be starting a family, it is important for them to make sure that the changes will be harmonious.

Their house is located on a corner lot in a quiet neighborhood. The house is on a northeast sitting and southwest facing orientation. According to the Nine Star chart for this orientation, the energies here promote fame, scholarship and creativity. This is highly favorable to Lois who is born of Western Direction Pattern energies. She happens to be a writer. Her husband Bob is a producer and born of the Eastern Direction Pattern.

The master bedroom is located in the south-southeast sector of the house. This matches Bob but does not match Lois at all. The master bedroom has a ceiling of exposed beams and rafters. There is a main beam directly over the center of the bed and the bed faces the fireplace. Also, the negative energies of the powder room downstairs and the master bathroom are both located in the southwest sector which is a positive direction for Lois. It is not surprising that although Lois is the same age as Bob, she looks older, and more worn out. Her aura is gray and darker compared to Bob's. I told them that this bedroom orientation may match Bob but with its beams and fireplace, this bedroom is very oppressive, causes much quarreling, poor sleep and potential problems wherever the beams or rafters align over their body. This is especially true for Lois since the bedroom orientation does not match her. It is also harder for her to do well in her career. Furthermore, she is vulnerable to problems relating to her uterus, skin or hormones because of the two toilets located in the southwest sector.

Lois explained that in the nine years that they have lived here, they have not gotten a good night's sleep. They are easily agitated in this bedroom. Bob points out that Lois developed an infertility problem while living here and that is why they were adopting. Lois sadly nodded in agreement and tells me that they often migrate to the guestroom to nap. The guestroom is located between the north and northwest sectors of the house, which happens to be compatible to them both. The guestroom has a smooth ceiling and is large enough to convert into a master bedroom, which I recommended. Bob would sleep on the north side and Lois would sleep on the northwest side.

The kitchen is located in the northwest sector facing east. This is also more beneficial for Bob's income and defeating for Lois' financial well being. I looked at Lois' birth chart and it also indicated that her in her life, she has to work very hard for her money. She must struggle before she can reach her goals. Lois leaned back and slapped her thigh, exclaiming, "That is the story of my life!" It is even truer in this house. Bob's chart shows that his is highly active, full of energy and creative person who is popular. Bob admits he has many friends and enjoys people. Lois quickly points out that Bob, on the other hand, does very well in his career. However, Bob denies it and points out that he could do better. I agree, he looks physically drained even though his aura is still bright. He has a strong internal energy that his physical body may not be able to keep up with. Aside from good feng shui, he needs good nutrition and exercise to keep his body and internal energy balanced.

Bob's home office is located in the west sector of the house, which does not match him. His desk is placed so that the door is directly behind him. This door is directly aligned to Lois' office, which is located on the north side of the house. She also has her door behind her desk. Having their offices opposing each other can make for argument. Lois agrees that strangely enough, they do have arguments when they are in working. That is why she cannot work unless her door is closed.

I explained that they are both working in the wrong direction. Lois will do better in the west and Bob better in the north. Having Bob work in the west room can make him prone to adultery, have unstable success and often having his credit or ideas stolen. Bob's furtive smile indicates that the female temptation does exist. Lois says to her husband that it is true, he often does not get the credit he deserves and his ideas are brushed off only to appear elsewhere with someone else getting credit. Bob has had mixed successes in his career.

I recommended that he work either in Lois' office or downstairs in the southeast living room. Bob's old office can be used as their new baby's room. Lois can work downstairs in the west den. They should make sure they have their backs supported by a solid wall when sitting at their desk. The old master bedroom can be used as a family or recreation room. Bob and Lois are bewildered and intrigued by the feng shui analysis. It is more than they anticipated. All they hoped for were some recommendations on their remodeling.

They had planned to build Lois' a new office over a new garage and convert their old garage into a family room. I explained that rooms over the garage tend to be unstable because the garage is where cars come in and out. The new office would be within the north sector, which does not match her. By fully utilizing all the rooms in the house, they eliminate their need to make expensive additions that do not necessary bring them benefit. Sometimes, without realizing it, your solutions are there under your nose only if you care to explore the possibilities and be willing to change.
